The legendary Azerbaijan cuisine is notable for the abundance of all kinds of meat, fish and vegetable dishes, fragrant greens and great variety of spices. Dishes from flour are very common for the first courses, as well as dishes madefrom fresh and sour milk or katyk.
Second dishes are mainly of mutton, and poultry, fowl, vegetables and rice. One of the most popular dishes in Azerbaijan - pilaf, which is known for making more than 40recipes.Moreover, Azerbaijan is famous for its barbecues also , a famous lula – kebab, to name few.
However, there is not too much for sweet dishes in Azerbaijani cuisine. Popular ones are baklava, kozinaki, halva, Turkish delight (with various additions), jellied fig and of course sherbet the most common dessert drink in the country.
